Both Locals, CWA 7906 and ETU#496/CWA 14752, approved the merger of the two Locals.  With both membership's approval, all that is left is the formalities and paperwork of merging the Locals together.  We expect this to be complete by the end of March 2010.

UPDATE

March 29, 2010 - Today, the officers of CWA 14752/ETU #496 met with officers of CWA Local 7906 with the purpose of completing the merger of the two Locals.  The merger document has been signed by both parties.  You may read the document by following the link below.
